Updates

I added a few updates to the site: I fixed the Top Movie List, it should be more recent now, also I added my A+ Movie List and my favorite video games of all time. If anyone has any suggestions for other lists, comment under this post and I'll see what I can do.

Bookies open betting on next pope

Yahoo! News - Bookies open betting on next pope
After hearing about the Pope's health problems, bookies have started taking bets on his successor, a bit sad and morbid if you ask me.

Car Thief Caught After Falling Asleep

Yahoo! News - Car Thief Caught After Falling Asleep
Wow, this guy is the biggest idiot alive.

Beauty Pageant to Choose Miss HIV

Yahoo! News - Beauty Pageant to Choose Miss HIV

The country that held the pageant has a population that is 1/3 HIV positive, an amazingly sad statistic. While there are many reasons that have helped lead to this epidemic in Africa, I don't care who you are, as humans we need to do something about it.

Man is flying around globe alone

CNN.com - Fossett: 'One of the most difficult flights ever' - Feb 28, 2005
If he succeeds this guy will be the first person to ever fly around the world non stop (no refueling, no rest) by himself.

Gates says high schools are obsolete

Governors Work to Improve H.S. Education: "'America's high schools are obsolete,' Gates said. 'By obsolete, I don't just mean that they're broken, flawed or underfunded, though a case could be made for every one of those points. By obsolete, I mean our high schools _ even when they're working as designed _ cannot teach all our students what they need to know today.' "

Jeter's Name Won't Go on Boston Arena

Yahoo! News - Jeter's Name Won't Go on Boston Arena

Couple of stupid things: first, that they try to raise money this way, second, that they didn't see something like this coming.

Do SUVs Make You Stupid? possibly

Do SUVs Make You Stupid? / Pointless, dangerous and vain as ever, land tanks still sell millions. Only one explanation possible
Great opinion article that my brother sent me. All I have to say is amen brotha.

Dowsing is ridiculous

Finding Water With A Forked Stick May Not Be A Hoax: "To make their point that dowsing is a sham each has staged demonstrations in which dowsers were asked to find buried pipes. Dowsers did no better than the laws of chance predict. JREF is so confident of its position it promises to pay $1.1 million to anyone who can 'prove' dowsing works. " I've always thought dowsing was crap, even though this article still tries to argue for the practice.

Why do I listen to stuff like this

Amazon.com: Music: So Jealous [ENHANCED]

That's a link to an album by Tegan and Sara, and the track i'm referring to is Walking With A Ghost. It's so bad and yet I can't stop listening to it. Apparently my cool brother says he's been listening to them for a long time, yet I know why....

Maybe there is another side to the story?

Using air to charge cellphones? IIT-Delhi does it!

They designed a device that uses wind power to charge your cell phone and it only costs $4.

Philadelphia Experiment

Philadelphia Experiment//Viewzone

Supposedly in WWII there was an experiment conducted by the US government where we "teleported" an entire naval ship or at least made it invisible. Here is a quote from someone that believes it happened: "....men caught fire, went mad, and - the most bizarre of all, some were embedded halfway into the deck of the ship. Others phased in and out of this reality...."

Lost Tonight

ABC's 'Lost,' Wednesdays 8/7c
This show just keeps getting better and better. Tonight's episode was one of the best yet, what do you think? (leave comments) Next week looks awesome too but I'm not going to get my hopes up as to whether we will learn more about what is going on or what.

Google does it again

Google Blog

Seriously, I can't love these guys enough. This movie search is awesome. Of course www.imdb.com is still my primary movie site (with www.comingsoon.net for coming movies and www.rottentomatoes.com for reviews) this is just another good tool and another example of Google's innovation.

It Pays To Read License Agreements

It Pays To Read License Agreements
To test if people actually read EULA's (the really boring legal thing that you click "I Agree" to when you install a piece of software) a company included a paragraph that said if you read this and send us an email saying you read it we will give you $1000. And they did. Of course 3000 people before him missed it.

Vikings agree to trade Moss to Raiders

ESPN.com - NFL - Vikings agree to trade Moss to Raiders
I couldn't possibly think of a better marriage, this jerk and the team known for selfishness and being "bad."

Aliens tell India not to bother landing men on moon...

Indiadaily.com - India announces no manned lunar mission like in Russia and America did Extraterrestrial UFOs tell India not to go to moon with humans on board?

Well not only do these guys believe aliens told India not to bother with manned missions to the moon, but supposedly they told the US and Soviet Union years ago too. Apparently thats one reason why some people feel like we faked the moon landing. Dang.

French Criticize Google

BetaNews | Google Book Effort Draws French Ire

This is just ridiculous.... Google is undertaking on of the most important efforts since the invention of the printing press by trying to digitize every book in five leading libraries and the head librarian in France can only criticize it as Americans trying to push their culture on everyone else. Pfft, go Google.

A few lists

Well, I put a few of my lists on the sidebar, but most of my lists are at school so after vacation I will get them and upload them for argument's sake. Also, the movie list is very outdated, the correct version will be put up at that time.

Keeping up with the Jones'

Well, since everyone and their brother (actually unsure if my brother has one) has one of these I figured I'd try it out. Not exactly sure why or if anyone will read it but oh well. I think I'll use it to post some of my "Top Whatever" lists and maybe rant about a few things too. Most likely I'll forget all about it in a week and no one will care, including me.
